I, Society & Public Policy (ISPP) Seminar is
a unique 11 day residential program to
engage college students in critical socio-economic issues through a theoretical
and practical understanding of public policy. The seminar was organized for
the first time in New Delhi from June 8-18, 2006. The aim was to help
youth explore the relation of self to society & public policy and how they
influence each other. The diversity in the 34 participants in terms of
geography, disciplines and points of view enriched the program. The program was
interactive and challenging with interactive sessions with the practitioners,
activists, policy researchers, policy makers, field research, and working group
exercises; and screening of documentary films. There were formal as well
informal spaces to carry on the debates and discussions throughout 12 days.
Participants also conducted a field research project during the program.
