Communicating Freedom Workshop

CCS conducted its second Communicating Freedom Workshop in New Delhi from July 26-30, 2006. The workshop aimed to equip CCS graduates from earlier seminars to take liberal ideas to more people. 23 participants from 11 cities in India are now partners in working towards the goal of a prosperous India. The workshop’s primary focus was skills: right from communication, to designing and running campaigns, to fund raising, team building, planning, monitoring and evaluation, organization and media advocacy. Some sessions also focused on enhancing the understanding of public policy. The biggest take away was arriving at the vision and missions of CCS graduate activities:

Vision

To create a liberal, aware, educated, economically free, environmentally and politically sound and empowered beings.

Mission

-         To build an open society (breaking stereotypes, creating acceptance, tolerance), polity (strengthening grass-root democratic institutions) and economy on the principles of choice, liberty, competition and entrepreneurship for every citizen of India.

-         To be a change agent and identify current and potential change makers

-         To create access and choice in education

-         To engage youth in economic, political or social change (the ability to make that change rests with you and you need to have the ability to bring about that change).

-         To create an all-India network of youth (individual network and organisations)
